World Cup Update Following Game 3

Things were quiet last night, in spite of the weather. NJ Transit was briefly at the train station but fortunately did not need to close it and make it a bypass station like they did for Game 1.

We have two more games this week, which we hope run as smoothly as the first two. The June 30 Knockout Round match and the July games may have a different impact on the area, but we will of course continue to monitor the situation.

As always, I’d like to thank our first responders for being prepared and on call for any situation during this time. Bergen County would like you to know it is distributing 25 pairs of free tickets to upcoming FIFA World Cup matches at local games to Bergen County first responders. Only Bergen County residents who are active first responders serving a Bergen County municipality are eligible to participate. Applicants must both live in Bergen County and be employed by, or assigned to, a first responder agency within Bergen County. The lottery form can be found on the Borough website at www.rutherfordboronj.com/welcome-world.

I’d also like to thank the residents who have volunteered their translation services should we need them. A proper ‘thank you’ will be forthcoming but I just wanted to acknowledge how much we appreciate your willingness to be on standby.
