Scam Alert: Cyber Criminals Posing As Municipalities

Residents are advised to be aware of a scam affecting people throughout the area. Cyber criminals are impersonating municipalities and trying to trick people into paying fake bills. The Borough of Rutherford will NEVER demand immediate payment or payment through wire transfer, gift card or cryptocurrency. If you receive a suspicious communication through the mail, text or email, please contact the Borough directly and never click on a suspicious link.
