NJDOT: Route 17 Southbound Ramp to Route 3 Eastbound Overnight Closures Beginning Monday 2/23

(Trenton) – The Route 17 southbound ramp to Route 3 eastbound is scheduled to be closed and detoured Monday night in Rutherford, Bergen County. In the event of inclement weather, work will take place the following night.

Beginning at 9 p.m. Monday, February 23 until 6 a.m. Tuesday, February 24, the Route 17 southbound ramp to Route 3 eastbound is scheduled to be closed and detoured. The overnight closure is necessary to make concrete repairs to the bridge deck on the ramp over Route 17 northbound. The following detour will be in place:

Route 17 southbound to Route 3 eastbound Detour:
• Motorists on Route 17 southbound wishing to take the ramp to Route 3 eastbound will be directed to continue on Route 17 southbound, which becomes Rutherford Avenue
• Turn left onto Polito Avenue
• Turn left onto Wall Street West
• Turn left onto Garland Way
• Turn right onto Route 17 northbound
• Stay right to take the ramp to Route 3 east/New York

The work is part of the $8.5 million federally funded maintenance contract that will make preventative repairs to 25 bridges and will paint 3 bridges in various locations on Routes 3, 17, 120 and 495 throughout Bergen, Hudson and Passaic counties.
