The Department of Public Works is committed to maintaining and improving the borough’s infrastructure to ensure a safe, clean, and well-functioning community for residents, businesses, and visitors. Our department oversees a wide range of essential services that impact the daily lives of everyone in the community.
Our Responsibilities Include:
Street Maintenance: Repairing and resurfacing roads, managing street signage, and ensuring safe traffic flow.
Stormwater Management: Maintaining storm drains, ditches, and culverts to prevent flooding and protect waterways.
Solid Waste and Recycling: Overseeing residential trash collection, recycling programs, and yard waste disposal.
Shade Tree: Dedicated to the care, preservation, and management of the community’s public and park trees. Our mission is to enhance the beauty, environmental health, and quality of life in our neighborhoods through proactive tree maintenance and urban forestry initiatives.
Fleet Services: Managing and maintaining borough-owned vehicles and equipment to support all departments.
Facility and Grounds Maintenance: Ensuring borough buildings, public facilities, parks, and playing fields are safe, clean, and operational.
Snow and Ice Control: Providing snow plowing and de-icing services to ensure road safety during winter months.
Capital Improvement Projects: Overseeing construction and infrastructure improvements such as roads, vehicles, and public buildings.
