Public Hearing Announcement: Borough of Rutherford Application for NJDEP Green Acres Jakes Law for Completely Inclusive Playgrounds Grant

PURPOSE: The Borough of Rutherford is seeking funding through the State of New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) Green Acres Program for improvements at Tamblyn Field, located at 300 Woodland Avenue, Rutherford, NJ 07070. The proposed project involves the construction of a Completely Inclusive Playground to provide a safe, accessible, and inclusive play space for children of all abilities in the community.

PROJECT SCOPE: The proposed project includes the development of a new, fully inclusive playground with specialized equipment, safety surfacing, and accessible amenities that comply with Jakes Law and NJDEP Green Acres guidelines. A concept plan showing the proposed improvements, a preliminary cost estimate, and an environmental impact assessment for the project can be reviewed at Borough Hall during regular business hours and is also available online at https://www.rutherfordboronj.com/

PUBLIC HEARING INFORMATION: The public is encouraged to attend a public hearing to learn more about the proposal and to ask questions or provide comments on the planned improvements. The hearing will take place as part of the regularly scheduled Borough Council meeting:
